Fiddles Alight ......! |
Stackridge are always
looking for that little bit extra that will really get a festival crowd going. Last
year it was rhubarb and girls pretending to be boys..... This year? Read on ...... Read on! |
Here we have Mr Evans ........violinist .......
fiddler .......... and Teacher Extraordinaire...... |
The
naked truth of the born teacher .... The Evangelist at work. Here he is at Trowbridge Festival last year. Watch out, Rhubarb Thrashers....all your kids will be playing the violin before you know it. Hours of fun for everyone, that is. I can tell you from bitter experience! Endless re-runs of 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star'. .......And it only stays in tune if the small person listens very hard and places those fingers really, really carefully. Ohhhhhhh! |
After a very great deal of blood, sweat and tears, this is what you end
up with, if you're lucky ....... Here's Mike with his daughter, Ruth. |
Ah!
THE MAESTRO conducts! Here we have Ruth, her Dad ..... and Nina ..... |
Ruth ...... ? She began playing the violin when she was 3 years old. It's like walking and talking. She has no memory of NOT being able to do it. |
Nina ...... ? She was one of Mike's first pupils when we moved to Beckington 16 years ago. We've all known each other a long time. |
So .... Nina and Ruth grew up together. School mates .... Music
Festival adversaries .... Duet partners .... Theatre Studies students together.... Great
friends! Just the 'je ne sais quoi' Stackridge needs just now. So, two generations meet to give Stackridge a three fiddle front line. Exciting, or what? (Just a quick aside.... How did that smarmy git in the background get in there? We've always wondered. Must have known the photographer...) |
