The Cropredy Preview ... |
An
'enhanced' front line then, for high days and holidays. At Cropredy, Stackridge are
introducing Ruth and Nina. They look great ... but there's much, much more to it
than just that ... These lasses are also skilled musicians and performers with
plenty of experience under their communal belt .... To prepare for Cropredy, we all got together for three days of intensive rehearsal at Beckington Village Hall. It's just down the road from The Old Manse, home of the Evans' Clan. The lads and lasses ate me out of house and home. Here's a quick synopsis of what they got up to ... |
... Here's Timmy, serving up the usual deliciously tasty dish from the rythmn section. He's got his eyes firmly fixed on .... |
.... The fastidious Mr Towers.... who is proving to be an excellent MD. Is this really Stackridge, the band stuffed with huge personalities, all of whom talk at once? .... EVERYONE is getting a say ..... |
This lad is playing Ian's keyboard, using two of Johnny's guitars and my
flute. I've got his Cropredy shirt. It's the only way to get it washed and
pressed because doesn't own an iron. What do you do with him? It is, of course, the wonderful, multi-talented Richard Stubbings .... |
Violin, vocals, percussion and dancing ..... we could even throw in keyboards if needed. Is there any end to this girl's skills? This is Nina, concentrating hard. |
The inimitable Mr Evans, stripped to the waist, and giving it his all, as usual. |
The gorgeous pouting Ruth. Need I say more? |
The indefatigable Crun. Never short of a good idea. |
.... and Jimmy .... all that youthful singing. How does he do it? |
